I hope you and your family are well! I decided almost a decade ago to quietly immerse myself in wellness and lifestyle education after witnessing the cumulative effects on those closest to me: my Family, Friends and Clients. I understand the sensitivity around the topic and feel a responsibility to share the positive power of what I am learning. Witnessing the impact of the coronavirus, especially on those with preexisting conditions, has moved me to share at this time. Over the years, I have learned there is little more closely tied to our financial independence than protecting our wellness and lifestyle. The two are inextricably connected, and no one is talking about it. My vision is to start sharing empowering content, from time to time, related to health and lifestyle in the spirit of us pursuing a better quality of life.
First, I am obviously not a doctor or part of the healthcare community. I would highly encourage you to engage with your preferred healthcare professional for specific questions and advice. I am simply sharing available information compiled over an extended period of time. Unfortunately, many medical schools in the United States do not require a single course on nutrition.1 Thankfully, we do not have to be a doctor to have access to life-changing nutrition and medical information. The responsibility is ours, and we can read books, attend medical conferences, watch documentaries and join community lifestyle groups among many other outlets. Anyone with an internet connection can access the United States National Library of Medicine at Pubmed.gov. Our country’s online database contains over 30 million documents allowing us to search for just about anything our heart desires related to nutrition and healthcare.
As a whole, the vibrancy and abundance of a human life is designed to thrive 100 years or longer.2 I would like to see that milestone reached more often than it does. Thankfully, physicians and researchers are finding out through prolonged clinical studies and early detection that most of the chronic diseases affecting the world today have the potential to be reversed with proper nutrition and lifestyle management rather than surgery and pharmaceuticals. The research is fascinating, the treatment is changing and so is our quality of life. All for the better!
I read a book by author John Robbins several years ago entitled Healthy at 100. While reading the book, I learned that Robbins is the son of Irv Robbins, the co-founder of Baskin Robbins. Rather than inherit the ice cream empire, he took a different path after mourning the passing of his uncle and co-founder of Baskin Robbins, Burt Baskin, from a heart attack at the age of 54. Robbins has made it his life’s work to educate others on the role quality food plays in our world.
John Robbins and his son, Ocean, are hosting the 9th Annual Food Revolution Summit from April 25 – May 3rd. Over 18 of the top doctors and experts from around the world are scheduled to present on how to prevent and possibly reverse diseases such cardiovascular disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and raising healthy children and families. They are spending one full day talking about how to have a healthy brain. This free, online event will happen each day at 11 am, noon and 1 pm EST. While this is my first year attending the Food Revolution Summit, I am looking forward to it as I have seen several of the physicians speak over the years at other conferences. If you are unavailable during the presentation times, lifetime access is being offered to all presentations and transcripts for $67 through the website link above.
If you would like additional information, please let me know. It is never too early or too late to make positive changes in our life. Take care, Tim
