The pineapple has long been the universal symbol of hospitality since the days of the early American colonies. The legend begins with the seafaring captains of New England who sailed the tropical Caribbean waters in search of fruits, spices, and rum.
At this time, the only trade routes were by ship and the waters often perilous. To get the succulent fruit back to port without it spoiling was a significant feat.
Upon returning, captains would spear a fence post outside of their home with a pineapple. This was the sign that the captain was home safely and company was welcomed. During these visits the guests were greeted with the rewards of a successful journey and tales from the sea.
Today, the pineapple remains the stamp of welcome, warmth and good cheer. For this reason, it is the symbol of Eastwood Wealth Management.
